There’s nothing worse than when you get an epic shot of the ocean, or a fun photo with you and your friends or family that will make the perfect cover photo; and once you upload the photo to Facebook, the photo is blurry. Never fear because we have a solution! Here are a few things to keep in mind to ensure that your photo is as beautiful on Facebook as it is on your computer.
Make sure your photo is the correct size. When using Photoshop, ensure that the size of your photo is 851 pixels wide by 314 pixels in height. Your profile picture dimensions should be 160 pixels wide by 160 pixels high.
Make sure your photo size is not too large
The size of your photo must be less than 100KB. The best way to ensure your photo won’t be too large is use the ‘Save for Web’ feature in Photoshop (File -> Save for Web). Is your photo still too large? Merge all of your layers in Photoshop so everything is in one layer, file-> Save for Web. Once the photo is saved make sure to edit->undo the merge of the layers to ensure your working Photoshop document still has all of it’s layers. At the end, be sure to save your Photoshop file with all of the layers so you can still edit the document if you need to later.
